During festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi… A road you drive on every day, can suddenly become a completely different road.
There may be a procession ahead. Traffic may slow down without warning. People are walking across the road. Two-wheelers are moving through small gaps. A familiar route can suddenly have barricades. Diversions are there. Or there is very little space to manoeuvre.
For a new driver? This can feel like too much happening at once.
At Edwins Art of Driving, we teach learners not to panic when the road changes. We teach them how to read the situation early. Understand their options and make the right decision before they are forced into one.
Don’t Wait Until You Reach the Procession
One of the biggest mistakes is seeing the procession only when you are already close to it. By then? Everyone is braking. Everyone is changing lanes. And everyone wants to find a way through.
A better driver starts observing much earlier. Is traffic building ahead? Are vehicles beginning to slow down? Is the road narrowing? Is there another route available?
Good judgement gives you time.
And time gives you better choices.
Crowded Roads Need More Space. Not More Speed
During Ganesh Chaturthi, you may have people, bikes, cars and commercial vehicles moving within very little space.
Many beginners respond by trying to squeeze through. That is exactly when mistakes happen.
At Edwins Art of Driving we teach learners to understand their vehicle’s position. And maintain enough space to make a safe decision.
What If Someone Suddenly Crosses Your Path?
This is where anticipation becomes important.
A pedestrian near the edge of the road may step forward. A two-wheeler may move around a stopped vehicle. A car ahead may suddenly brake.
You cannot control what they do. But you can prepare for what they might do.
That is the foundation of defensive driving.
Don’t Let the Crowd Decide How You Drive
Festive traffic can make even experienced drivers impatient.
For a beginner? That pressure can be worse.
Someone honks from behind. Another driver tries to squeeze past. You feel that you have to move.
You don’t.
A confident driver knows when to wait. When to move. And when taking another route is the smarter decision.
Why Does Proper Training For Driving Make a Difference?
At Edwins Art of Driving, learners are not trained only for quiet roads and predictable traffic.
We work on the judgement needed when conditions become crowded and unpredictable.
You learn vehicle positioning. Spacing. Traffic anticipation. Lane discipline. And defensive driving techniques.
So that when the road becomes busy? You don’t become confused with it.
Because Ganesh Chaturthi traffic is temporary.
The driving judgement you build stays with you.
Connect with Edwins Art of Driving and understand how structured professional driving lessons can help you handle crowded roads, unpredictable traffic and real-world situations with confidence.
